London Mint Office Enters Administration Process
The London Mint Office, one of the UK's largest numismatic distributors, has entered administration after nearly two decades in business.
On 31 July 2026, Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP were appointed Joint Administrators of the company following efforts to secure a buyer. The move comes after The London Mint Office filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators amid ongoing financial difficulties. According to its 2024 accounts, it recorded a pre-tax loss of nearly £1.8 million, citing challenges associated with the implementation of new IT systems.
Founded in 2006 and owned by the Netherlands-based Samlerhuset Group, the company became well known for its collector coin programmes, including products celebrating British royalty, military anniversaries, and major national events such as the London 2012 Olympic Games.
